Tea Cake

Tea Cake - There just isn't any comparison to freshly baked tea cake. The aroma alone have a soothing effect on the spirits. Enjoy!
Ingredients
- Butter 200 gram
- Caster sugar 1 cup
- Vanilla essence 1, 1/2 tsp
- Eggs (whisked) 4
- Flour 2 cups
- Baking powder 1, 1/2 tsp
- Salt a pinch
- Lemon rind 1/2 tsp
- Yellow food color a pinch
- Lemon juice 1 tsp
Cooking Directions
- Preheat oven at 180 degree.
- Mix butter and sugar well.
- And then add Vanilla essence and eggs.
- Add flour, baking powder, lemon juice, lemon rind, salt, food color to the mixture and fold with a rubber spatula.
- Now grease 8 inch mold and pour the mixture into it.
- Now in preheated oven bake for 45 to 50 minutes on 180 degree.
- When ready, leave to get cool and then serve with tea.
