Tea Cake

Tea Cake - There just isn't any comparison to freshly baked tea cake. The aroma alone have a soothing effect on the spirits. Enjoy!






Ingredients

  • Butter 200 gram
  • Caster sugar 1 cup
  • Vanilla essence 1, 1/2 tsp
  • Eggs (whisked) 4
  • Flour 2 cups
  • Baking powder 1, 1/2 tsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Lemon rind 1/2 tsp
  • Yellow food color a pinch
  • Lemon juice 1 tsp

  • Cooking Directions

    1. Preheat oven at 180 degree.
    2. Mix butter and sugar well.
    3. And then add Vanilla essence and eggs.
    4. Add flour, baking powder, lemon juice, lemon rind, salt, food color to the mixture and fold with a rubber spatula.
    5. Now grease 8 inch mold and pour the mixture into it.
    6. Now in preheated oven bake for 45 to 50 minutes on 180 degree.
    7. When ready, leave to get cool and then serve with tea.
